Project’s Objectives

Τhe specific objectives of SAGE are as follows:

  1. Establish a robust partnership focused on combating doping in sports.
  2. Develop, implement, and disseminate educational modules and tools addressing the harmful effects of doping on health and societal values.
  3. Foster the critical thinking skills of young athletes, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their athletic pursuits.
  4. Create effective toolkits for sports organizations and staff to educate young athletes, with a focus on inclusivity across socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  5. Promote European values such as discipline, respect, tolerance, diversity appreciation, justice, and equality.
  6. Achieve a qualitative impact and contribute to more inclusive, cohesive, environmentally friendly, and digitally adept societies. Additionally, it’s worth noting that SAGE aligns directly with European sports policies by emphasizing the societal role of sports, advocating for good governance in doping prevention, promoting social inclusion and fair play, and prioritizing democracy and health.

 

Project’s Activities

Data Collection & Educational Tools Development

  • Research Report: Research on sport and doping, Best Practice educational tools conducted at national level in 5 partner countries, reports.
  • Guide e-Book: Best practices e- Guide (e-book), a guide for all professional and amateur athletes to each partner country, about doping and youth – natural medicines – rules and rights.
  • Web-Platform: E- Learning platform includes all the training materials of the projects with open access.

Training & Learning Activities

  • Training Seminar in Spain: A two-day training taking place in Spain, introducing the project, the national findings, regulations and doping, alternatives and best practices.
  • Study Visit in Slovenia: A of Study Visit in Slovenia to offer the young athletes a unique educational experience about doping and the youth.
  • Local Workshop Trainings: Local workshop trainings around the SAGE outputs, further disseminating the project.

Dissemination Activities

The dissemination activities of the project encompass various strategies to reach both internal and external audiences, ensuring widespread awareness and engagement with the project’s objectives and outcomes.

  1. Local Dissemination Events:
    • Information will be shared within partner and associated organizations, reaching staff members, boards, teaching/research/admin staff, volunteers, managers of sports and volunteering organizations.
    • External dissemination targets sports and volunteering operators, associations, policymakers, local authorities, and stakeholders involved in sports and volunteering.
  2. Translations:
    • Dissemination materials produced in English will be translated into each partner’s national language.
  3. Project Website:
    • A comprehensive project website will be developed to provide essential project information and engage a broad audience. Institutional websites of partners will also be utilized to reach a larger audience.
  4. Dissemination Material:
    • Printed leaflets, project posters, and roll-ups will be distributed in partner countries.
    • Social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) will be leveraged for promotion, along with linking social media with open educational platforms.
    • An e-book featuring best practices will be available on the project website.
    • Press releases and video clips/spots will be periodically released to inform the general public and promote volunteering activities.
  5. Farewell Event:
    • Graduates from local workshop training events will share their experiences training external young athletes at a farewell dinner presentation for local stakeholders. The target audience includes young athletes, local authorities, policy makers, sports organizations, coaches, managers, and parents.
  6. Evaluation and Sustainability:
    • An evaluation of the project’s impact on young athletes and stakeholders will be conducted at the beginning, first year, and end of the program using specialized questionnaires. Outcomes will be summarized, analyzed, and reported by a team of experts in the target countries.
